QUANTum3 - Quantum physics comes to town

New series of events at 42kaiserslautern shows how quantum technologies are changing our everyday lives

For many, quantum physics sounds like a mysterious chapter in science - yet it has long been part of our everyday lives. From computer chips to MRI scanners and navigation systems, many technological milestones would be inconceivable without discoveries made in the world of the smallest particles.

Under the title "QUANTum3", the RPTU invites visitors on a voyage of discovery through a century of quantum physics - and beyond: The focus is also on the so-called "second quantum revolution". New technologies, such as quantum computers and quantum sensors, promise solutions to challenges that were previously considered unsolvable.

Every second Saturday of the month from 15:00, researchers from the RPTU will address exciting questions at 42kaiserslautern (Eisenbahnstraße 42):

  • Where is quantum physics being used today?
  • What visions are driving the research?
  • And how can quantum phenomena help to shape our future?

Attendance is free of charge.

All dates and further information about the series can be found on the website of the Department of Physics.
